i was wondering if anyone had any advice on editing software, bin using moviemaker 2 for a bit after getting my first camera but i want a more sophisticated system?
Any advice?? I hear adobe's premiere is good but sum say pinnaclesliquid systems better! Im at a loss!
Any help would be appreciated!!

Basic edits but lots of filters and very useful for converting avi streams into different formats:

If you want to learn one of the industry standards and have a reasonably powerful editing system:
http://www.avid.com/freedv/ - once you master this you can work on any Avid, all they way up to Nitris.
Both are excellent, given the fact that they are free.

My personal fave on Windows is Sony Vegas, there is a demo available for download
here.
My preference however is Apple's FCP.
